Surveying Course Objectives

•To make the student to get well conversant with the fundamentals of various basic methods and instruments of surveying. •To introduce to the students in identifying reduced level of the ground and its profile for finding areas and volumes of embankments and cuttings.•To make the student to use angular measuring instruments for horizontal and vertical control.•To enable the student to set simple horizontal curves. •To introduce the knowledge construction surveys and usage of modern instrument such as total station.

Surveying Course Outcomes

At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
•Calculate angles, distances and levels
•Identify data collection methods and prepare field notes •Understand the working principles of survey instruments
•Estimate the volumes of earth work •Able to use modern survey instruments.
